PRE-MADE BOOK COVER POLICY

Before making your purchase, please review and agree to the terms outlined in the Pre-made Cover Policy. By understanding and accepting these terms, you'll ensure compliance with licensing agreements and support the quality and integrity of the work delivered to you. These terms are also designed to protect your cover art and work, fostering a professional and positive experience for you.

Pre-made Cover Adjustments: Pre-made covers are sold as-is. However, I am open to making minor changes upon request. Any requests for changes to the cover art must be reviewed beforehand and may incur additional costs. For more information, please refer to my Pre-Made Cover Adjustment Policy.

License Compliance: It is the responsibility of the client or publisher to adhere to the licensing terms for any stock images used in the cover design. I acquire standard licenses for pre-made artwork and maintain subscriptions with various stock companies. I may also secure direct licenses from illustrators, photographers, and other design agencies.

Most stock images include limitations on reproductions exceeding 500,000 copies or views. If you surpass this threshold, it is your responsibility to secure an extended license to ensure compliance.

Usage of Final Files: As the designer, I retain ownership of the copyright and the right to use the final artwork to promote my business and include it in my portfolio. You own the completed cover design and may use it, unaltered except for resizing, for your story, promotional material, including printed author swag, etc., in compliance with all licensing guidelines. Please note the following:

  • Any changes to the final files by you or third parties require prior approval from Covers in Color, with the inclusion of additional texts, such as accolades or award badges, being an exception.

  • The cover art is for one installment only. If used for more than one book, adherence to all license requirements is your responsibility.

  • Purchasing an eBook cover grants you the rights to use the file for all digital platforms. However, printing is prohibited unless you have either a) purchased a print cover from me or b) received my written consent. No part of the pre-made cover art or any stock images in the digital art can be used in printing without proper authorization. Unauthorized use may also result in license violations. Covers in Color is not liable for any unauthorized printing, distribution, or errors pertaining to print covers not produced by me.

Promotional Use: You have the right to use the cover art in promotions and marketing, and you may resize the files for these purposes. This applies to both print and digital platforms.

Legal Responsibilities: Covers in Color will not be held responsible for any legal infringements or violations of stock image or photography licenses. It is the client's responsibility to ensure that all usage of the cover art adheres to the licensing terms. Any legal issues arising from unauthorized use or distribution of the cover art, including but not limited to, printing errors, distribution violations, or license breaches, will be the client's sole responsibility. Covers in Color will not be liable for any damages or legal costs incurred as a result of these violations.

Final Sale: All pre-made cover sales are final and non-refundable. By purchasing a pre-made cover, you agree to these terms.
